Finance Webinars That Actually Make Sense
We're running live sessions throughout 2025 where real financial professionals share what they've learned from years of working with Australian businesses. No jargon. No sales pitches. Just honest conversations about money management.
Register Your InterestUpcoming Sessions for 2025
We've scheduled these sessions based on the questions we get asked most often. Each one runs for about 75 minutes, including time for questions.
Cash Flow Patterns in Small Business
We'll walk through actual cash flow scenarios from retail and service businesses. You'll see how seasonal patterns affect different industries and what warning signs to watch for before problems get serious.
Led by financial advisor Callum Thornbury
Understanding Business Loans Beyond the Interest Rate
Interest rates matter, but they're not the whole story. This session breaks down fees, repayment structures, and those clauses in loan agreements that can surprise you later.
Led by commercial banker Desmond Whitlock
Tax Planning That Doesn't Wait Until June
Most people think about tax once a year. We'll show you how spreading that planning across twelve months can change your financial position, with examples from real businesses in Victoria.
Led by taxation consultant Harlan McBride
Reading Your Business Numbers Like a Story
Your profit and loss statement tells a story about your business. We'll go line by line through actual statements and show you what the numbers are trying to tell you.
Led by financial advisor Callum Thornbury
Personal Finance Foundations for Business Owners
When you run a business, your personal and business finances overlap more than you'd think. This session covers how to manage both without getting tangled up.
Led by commercial banker Desmond Whitlock
Growth Decisions and Financial Capacity
Growing too fast can be as dangerous as not growing at all. We'll discuss how to assess whether your business is financially ready for expansion, with case studies from both successful and challenging experiences.
Led by taxation consultant Harlan McBride

How These Sessions Actually Work
We keep groups deliberately small because bigger isn't better when you're talking about money. Each session has around 20 to 25 participants, which means there's actually time to ask questions and get answers.
You'll join via a video platform from wherever you are. Most people tune in from home after dinner, some from their office if they're working late anyway.
- Live video format with screen sharing for examples and charts
- Question periods built into the session, not just tagged on at the end
- Follow-up materials sent within 24 hours for reference
- Optional recorded version if you need to leave early or miss something
- Private discussion group for participants who want to continue the conversation
We don't record your video or share your questions publicly unless you specifically want us to. Some people prefer to ask things anonymously, which is completely fine.
Who's Leading These Sessions
These three have been working in Australian finance for years. They've seen businesses thrive and struggle, and they're honest about both experiences.

Callum Thornbury
Financial Advisor
Spent eleven years working with small businesses across regional Victoria. He's particularly good at explaining complex financial concepts without making you feel like you need an accounting degree.

Desmond Whitlock
Commercial Banker
Worked in commercial lending for nine years before moving into financial education. He knows what banks look for in loan applications because he used to be the one reviewing them.

Harlan McBride
Taxation Consultant
Has been helping businesses with tax planning since 2012. He's dealt with everything from sole traders to partnerships with complicated structures, mostly around the Geelong region.
Getting Access to Webinars
We run these sessions at no cost because we believe financial knowledge shouldn't have a price barrier. That said, spots fill up fairly quickly once we announce dates.
Registration usually opens about six weeks before each session. We send reminders to people who've expressed interest, along with the joining link about three days beforehand.
Early Registration Access
If you're already part of our learning program, you get first access to webinar registrations before we open them to the public.
Session Recordings
Can't make the live session? Registered participants get access to recordings within 48 hours, available for 30 days afterward.
Resource Materials
Every session includes downloadable templates, worksheets, or checklists that you can actually use in your business or personal finances.
Follow-Up Questions
Thought of a question after the session ended? We keep a discussion thread open for a week afterward where presenters respond to additional questions.
